Birthdate: 7th June 1975
I was brought up in a small village near Bristol in the West of England. My childhood was all about gymnastics – nobody knows where the ‘sporty’ gene came from but as far back as I can remember I have been throwing myself around the garden in an attempt to master new tricks!
I was a member of a small town club for several years and entered a number of local competitions. (Clevedon Gymnastics Club) which was run by the formiddable Mrs Pittard, terrifying as a child but who I can now thank for nuturing my strength of mind and body from an early age!
After I gave up gymnastics due to various injuries and general growing up, I had a few ‘blank’ years where I couldn’t find anything to replace the sport I had loved…until I joined a gym. The aching muscles were what I had been missing all along and I was hooked as soon as I began weight training. I found my muscles developed quite quickly, and when I caught on to proper nutrition aswell, there was no stopping me! I transformed from 7 stone weakling to a somewhat heavier pocket rocket!
I entered (and won) my first competition in early 2004, and earned my pro card less than 2 years later after winning the British finals in October 2005.
